This past Sunday marked the first service for the South Campus of Omaha Bible Church. We are blessed to meet in the auditorium, cafeteria, and classrooms of Bellevue West High School. This service marked a major step forward in our effort to establish a God-centered, cross boasting, expository ministry in the Bellevue, Offutt, Papillion area of Nebraska.

As the preaching pastor of this ministry I was greatly encouraged to find so many folks serving like they believed that God was glorious and his Son was worthy to be served and proclaimed. I was repeatedly pinching myself on Sunday as I saw people buzzing around with God-centered zeal to promote the gospel. To make matters even more exciting God blessed us by bringing several families who were new to Omaha Bible Church and live in the Sarpy County area. Many of the folks had said that they were anticipating this ministry being launched. There were a grand total of right around 150 folks with us on Sunday. I pray that God would bring many people who have a hunger for the Word of God to work together in this ministry to promote the glorious truth of Christ’s gospel.

From my perspective the preaching was the breath of relief. There have been so many administrative things over the last 9 months or so leading up to this that I just wanted to exhale and preach. Thankfully this happened. I am more thankful than ever for the fruit that God is working in and through the lives of many at OBC South; people are serving with a Christ-Centered, gospel-boasting mentality. This is truly a result of benevolent grace.

If you think of it, we request your prayers for faithfulness, fervency, and a genuine hunger for the word of God, that God would be pleased to spread his fame through clay pots like us.
