20′s for Jesus?

A pic from a friend who visited Texas this weekend, and yes it was a Charismatic Church. I think I could rock these in my sled.

The ONLY way you would have those rims on your mini van is if they would have the Patriots logo on the center hub.

Something to think about: how do you balance custom chrome wheels with Christian stewardship? I realize I put myself at the risk of sounding like the apostles in Matthew 26:8-9 (“This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor.”) but where do we draw the line? I assume that a person might justify it by saying it is a witness for Christ but that would only be true when it is parked (and not in the garage). Just thinking. . .

It is healthy to examine motives/stewardship…food/clothes/entertainment/etc…but the rims seems kinda over the top for me personally. Kinda like getting some gold fronts with the word ‘gospel’ in it or something. But for some that may be ok…i guess.

I’m thinking Second Commandment on that one… Why everyone loves to see a cross is something I still ponder.

Now that is what I call innovation. I would have to agree with “widim” (LOL) too.

  7. Patrick in OZ says:

I imagine the cost of those rims could feed a small village or sponsor a few children in countries where they are fighting to survive because they don’t have food… Glad to hear you are not getting gold fronts erik… I was worried there for a moment… LOL – I realize this sounds quite harsh, but as we study the Jesus of the NT, and His teachings, is this not storing up treasures on earth? Then of course the question is – how far do you take that? – but clearly the rims will provoke convo’s… hopefully those convo’s will lead to salvation & not a slandering of Christians and how they use their money – we can only hope!!!

    Patrick,

Gospel gold fronts would be working, whether you are in the OZ or in Nebraska.

a whole new meaning to “Jesus, take the wheel.”

I think we should examine the possibility of symbolic messages here.
If I were a Purpose Driven fan from Saddleback, should I put some 40′s on my SUV to celebrate the beginning of our next spiritual growth campaign.
If you’re a John Maxwell fan: Can you get 21′s? You could have 1 inch for every one of the Irrefutable Laws of Leadership.
“23 inch spinners?” you ask. How about Ezekiel 10:13 As for the wheels, they were called in my hearing “the whirling wheels.” Just add the chapter – 10 to the verse – 13, and presto, you have a Biblical justification for the whirling wheels that make heads turn!
